Showcase Sunday 05-08-12

5 Aug 2012

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky @ Books, Biscuits and Bites. Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and The Story Siren, the aim of this meme is to showcase our newest books!

Hey guys! I haven't done a 'Showcase Sunday' in...more than a month! I did receive a lot of books during that time (some awesome ones like Rift, Insignia, Throne of Glass, Losing Lila, The Gathering Dark/Shadow and Bone to name a few ) but I rearranged my bookshelf earlier this week, and gathering them, then putting all of them back in their positions would take forever, so I'm not going to post pictures of them. However, I'll showcase the books I received this week (which was also a lot...but at least they're all sitting together on my shelf :D)
Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts

Alice In Zombieland by Gena Showalter
Speechless by Hannah Harrington

Twisted Heart by Eden Maguire
A Witch In Winter by Ruth Warburton
Embrace by Jessica Shirvington

I don't think I've ever received/bought so many books in one week! The above are just the books I received this week; my friend Lana and I went book shopping on Monday (I had a 12-day break from school and I literally spent all of those days reading and sleeping :D) and I bought...5 books (not pictured). They were all really cheap, but in the end, I still spent ALL my money :(  I bought The Scorpio Races (It was only $10 for a hardcover- most are usually $30) , The Book Thief, Supernaturally, Divergent and Crescendo. It may not seem like a lot, but that's the most I've ever bought in one go! Anyway, I hope you guys all received so fabulous books this week. Leave links!!

A massive thank you to Harlequin Teen (seriously, I LOVE YOU GUYS!), Jeyn Roberts & Brodie + Jess + Rachel!, Bloomsbury, and Hachette for the above awesomeness<3 (And also a huge thanks to the publishers/authors/blogger friends who sent me books in the last month or so!)

  1. EEEEEE SHIRLEY! SO MANY AMAZING BOOKS THIS WEEK!

Dark Inside! Pretty sure I've heard of it although I've never actually wanted to read it. I'll be sure to check it on GR now!

Something Like Normal! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. I adore this book so much. One of the best contemporaries I've read this year. So hope you love it too!

Alice in Zombieland! Got an ARC from HarlequinTeen last week so I can't wait to read it! It'll be my first Gena Showalter's book ;)

Confessions of an Angry Girl! I read it a few weeks ago and did enjoy it although I had some problems with the characters :P

Speechless. OH GOSH SHIRLEY, I can't stop thinking about this book until now. It made me so......SPEECHLESS. It's just that GOOD. Personally, I think I loved it even more than Saving June!

Hahaha, I also got the same books for Date A Book's Birthday Bash. I'm pretty sure I have 3 copies of Embrace now which I have yet to read XP I really want to read A Witch in Winter and Twisted Heart is the second book in the series?

    Anyway...

HOPE YOU ENJOY ALL THE BOOKS YOU GOT THIS WEEK and GOOD LUCK WITH SCHOOL, Shirley! ♥

  2. Ugh, your commenting system does NOT like me. Finally it loads so that I can type!

I got those three Hachette books too (last pic) for the Date a Book special thingy doodah, yeah? I'm reading A Witch in Winter at the moment. Embrace is a quick read, but there's so much about it that I just found wrong beyond forgiveness.

Iiiiiiii!!! I'm only requesting from HarlequinTeen now - Alice in Zombieland and Speechless are on my lists. Hope I get them soon! They look great. I like that although they're ARCs the final covers are printed on them, instead of just white.

And Dark Inside and Something Like Normal (!!!). I really want to read the latter. It's actually reminding me of Pushing the Limits, because in that book the main girl's brother died in Afghanistan and stuff, and there's a romance that seems to be both about the emotional and physical aspects. Hope you're enjoying!
