In My Mailbox #22

17 Mar 2012

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren, which allows bloggers to share what books they've borrowed, received in the mail or bought in the past week.

The Fault in our Stars by John Green
Seriously, if you haven't heard of this book, you MUST be living under a rock! This is one of the books I'll be reading AFTER my exams, since I don't want to be seen in a sobbing mess & get all distracted! But I'm so excited to read this<3

Touch of Power by Maria V Snyder
YAYYY <3 Soo happy I have this one now<3 90% of readers seem to LOVE this, and being a fan of Maria myself, I've no doubt this will blow me away!

The Wrong Boy by Suzy Zail
This one's set during the Holocaust, about a young Jewish pianist sent to live in Auschwitz; and she falls in love with the German son of a camp commander. OMG. I LOVE Forbidden love stories, but even more so a non-paranormal-inspired one! I'll definitely be reading this one soon - say...after my exams (which will be over soon!!!!)

Losing It by Julia Lawrinson
AUSSIE YA <3 There's unfortunately no reviews for this on goodreads, so I have no idea what people think of it :S But it sure sounds like a light & fun read! Looking forward to reading this <3

Surrender by Lee Nichols
Eeeee! A nice little surprise from Bloomsbury <3 I'm so excited to start this since I loved the previous two books in this trilogy! Cannot wait to see how this ends!
Torn by Amanda Hocking
TROLLS?!?!?! Okay, so I WAS going to buy Dolly since each mag came with a FREE copy of Switched!BUT, unfortunately the day I actually brought money to buy it, I REALISED THE NEXT EDITION CAME OUT ALREADY! *Cries* Ahh well...I'll purchase a copy of Switched soon!

Choker by Elizabeth Woods
Fellow Aussie bloggers have said this one's really good & apparently  CREEPY. AND I LOVE ANYTHING CREEPY! I now have high hopes for this one!

Slide by Jill Hathaway
I've read mixed reviews on this, but I'm incredibly excited to read it myself! Murder mysteries will never get old :D

Thank you Harper Collins, Walker Books, Pan Macmillan, Bloomsbury, Penguin, Simon & Schuster, Kylie @The Talking Teacup & HarlequinTeen for the above awesomeness <33

What did you receive in your mailbox? :D Leave links!

  4. YOU GOT THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. YAAAAYYY!! But ugh. Every time I see this book in mailbox photos, I never see it accompanied by a box of tissues. Nobody learns! YOU WILL NEED THEM.

Wait... I thought you already read Touch of Power?! AHH. Shirley! YOU WILL LOVE IT. Especially already being a Maria fan... you know how awesome she is :D

Ooooh Surrender. I still need to read book two *bangs head on desk* Loved Deception, though!

Annnnd Torn (but oh damn with Switched, such sucky timing LOL) and Choker!! I got those last week and super excited to read. Chocker DOES sound creepy... Brodie likes the creepy. So your mailbox is made of win this week. SO excited to read all your amazing reviews. ENJOY!!

  5. hahahaaaa you know, I'm contemplating re-taking my IMM pic with the addition of A TISSUE BOX! But I'm lazy & therefore can't be bothered re-uploading a pic!

Nooooo! Unforunately not :S Gabby sent two copies already, and they both got lost in the mail :S *cries* THOSE POOR BOOKS! I hope they're being treated well wherever they are!

I found Deception much better than Betrayal! (but it was still a great read!) Except Emma annoyed me a little in Betrayal :S

    CREEEEPYYYYYYY! MEEEEE LOVEEEE!<3333 hahaaaa

  6. ALICEEEEEEE!
Oh LOL, I could just pretend I'm having this major breakdown and I'll be excused from doing my exams, & so I'll have longer to study for them when I take it at a later date! heheheeee my strategic thinking is so flawed :/

I KNOWWWWW! But they're really cheap at Big W, so I'll be able to grab a copy!

Thank you sweetie <333 I SHALL DO WELL. OR ELSE NOT BLOGGING FOR A WEEK WILL GO TO WASTE! GOOD LUCKK TO YOUU TOOOO!

  7. Buahaha take a photo of the half empty tissue box with your review :P IF it makes you cry... if it doesn't.... *PEERS AT YOUR ICY HEART* BRRRRR, IT'S COLD IN HERE.

Aw man, BOTH got lost?! More like dodgy posties stole them when they realised it was the awesomeness of Snyder!

Damn... sucks that Emma was annoying. I did read a little of the book when I first got it and saw that freaking Bennett left *shakes fist* but I got sidetracked and didn't get around to continuing. *groans at TBR*

  11. The Fault in Our Stars!!! ♥ Oh my gosh, I have that one on my shelf right now and I swear that I'm itching to read it every time I walk by (but I still haven't had the time to! I know -- terrible!)! But I guess I have to get to it soon since it's a copy from the library and there are a million holds on it after me, soo.... x)

And TORN! Yaaaaaaay! I actually JUST got my hands on a copy of that one too and am SO excited to read it (since I adored the first one)! I hope you really love it too! (I've heard that there's a new boy joining the picture in this book and that his name is Loki -- isn't it cute???)

Amazing mailbox this week, Shirley! You have lots of LOVES on your shelf this week and I am super-excited to read your reviews on all of them! :) <3
