Follow Friday #4 & Book Blogger Hop #1

5 Aug 2011

Follow  Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison can Read!

Q. Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid read, or did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?)

A lot of my favourite books/series would've influenced me in many ways, but there's one particular book that immediately jumped to my mind when I read the question.Briar Roseby Jane Yolen. It was set during the Holocaust, and it was such a powerful and emotional read for me. After reading this, I was more interested in studying history and learning more about WW2. It also taught me to value my life & everyone around me, because really, who knows what will happen tomorrow?

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Jennifer over at Crazy for Books

QWhat is the one ARC you would love to get your hands on right now?

Anna dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake! I haven't read a horror book in ages, and I don't remember any of the horror books I've read being particularly frightening...I'm definitely looking forward to reading this!!

  4. I've read Briar Rose! I think I had to read it in 7th grade or something. I always have hated history (as in the class) but I love reading historical fiction. It's so much more interesting when there's a story behind it instead of reading facts from a text book. Great pick!

    Here's my FF!

  8. @ Alison Can Read

    haha, that's a good question!
I tend to double the letters of each word I write, especially when I write emails to friends...I guess you can call it a habit? So I'm used to typing 'Shiirleyy' :)
